About the Program

The Winter Ride Program is a multi-week chaperoned youth bus program for middle and high school aged participants. For over 50 years Mt. Baker has been proud to host this bus, lesson and rental program, providing our youth with access to the outdoors.

We are so fortunate to live in the Northwest surrounded by magnificent natural places like the mountains of the North Cascades. Through the Winter Ride Program, we strive to share the beauty as well as the FUN of the mountains with the younger members of our community in hopes they may develop the skills to enjoy the winter outdoors for many years to come.

Buses pick up participants and chaperons from designated areas and deliver them to and from the Heather Meadows Base Area at Mt. Baker Ski Area. Participants have numerous rental, lesson and transportation options to choose from depending on the area in which they live.

Options include:

• Bus ride only

• Ski or Snowboard Lessons

• Ski or Snowboard Rentals

*Transportation for Bellingham, Conway, La Conner, Mt. Vernon, Burlington and Oak Harbor is available for purchase online. Transportation for all other bus areas must be purchased through the program coordinator.
